About the Business Line

AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager in Afghanistan. The Operations Manager is directly responsible for the day to day planning required to ensure synchronization across all areas of the operation. Manages daily operational execution as related to the cost, schedule and technical performance of the operation in accordance with contractual and business requirements. Develops and implements strategic and tactical planning. Ensures company and customer quality requirements are incorporated into all operations procedures. Ensures operational contract performance goals and requirements are met and that quality services are delivered to the supported Unit and the EAS effort. Identifies potential project problems or opportunities, analyzes the issues using all appropriate resources, develops alternatives, and arrives at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or to develop opportunities. Maintains open communication with the project manager and customer, as appropriate, regarding any issues which may have a detrimental or positive impact on contract performance. Provides senior management and the customer with required reports in a timely manner. Manages resources to meet mission requirements. Maintains professional business relationships with internal and external customers.

Minimum Requirements

• 
  

  A minimum fifteen (10) years of management experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Extensive general supervisory experience in areas of maintenance, supply, transportation and quality management.

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
