Job Description
Analyzes; administers; and maintains telecommunications systems.
Evaluates; analyzes; administers and maintains voice; data and wireless communications systems.
Reads and interprets circuit diagrams and electrical schematics.
Prepares detailed specifications and flowcharts for implementation of new internal systems or modifications to vendor systems.
Manages installation of equipment.
Monitors the operations of telecommunications systems and services of vendors.
Provides end-user training of telecommunications features and functionality.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced Analysts and Technicians; and may have supervisory responsibilities.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Education
Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical training or work experience.
Qualifications
8-10 years of related telecommunications experience.
The candidate should have qualifications in the following: Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS); support racks; satellite communications; fiber; Interconnect Facilities (ICFs); Network Equipment Technologies (NET); multiplexers; voice transcoders; tactical/strategic interfaces; switching communications; Unclassified (but Sensitive) Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET); SIPRNET; local area networks (LANs) outside cable plant transmission; radio propagation (Line of Sight (LOS) and Area); digital microwave (M/W) equipment operation; radio systems engineering; base band multi-plexers; cable Data Service Unit/Channel Service Unit (DSU/CSU) and Television and Video Teleconferencing.
