(AFG-KANDAHAR) Project Move Control Mgr


Job Summary


The Project Movement Control Manager is responsible for managing the Movement Control Team in support of the assigned task order.


Principal Accountabilities


(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)


  • Manage the coordination of transportation assets, organization of staging yards, and provision of In-Transit Visibility to support military and DI movement requirements at assigned location

  • Ensure the Movement Control Team (MCT) works efficiently to provide Movement Control Services at assigned transportation node

  • Manage EXPAT and TCN movement coordinators in the performance of duties

  • Ensure Project Movement Control Plans and policies are effectively executed

  • Maintain in-transit visibility of all cargo and passengers arriving to or departing MCT operated nodes

  • Set project logistics policy in the areas of Movement Control Management

  • Ensure safe operation of equipment

  • Schedule operators and equipment to meet mission requirements

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills


  • Skill and knowledge of ground transportation, freight forwarding and distribution administration are required

  • Skill and knowledge in preparing Defense Transportation System reports, quality control, and traffic management functions

  • Knowledge of the Army and other military services, commercial agencies, and host nation elements; familiarity with DOD transportation organizations

  • Evaluation experience in site capability and limitation for depots, truck terminals, railheads, beachheads, air terminals, and water ports/terminals

  • Ability to organize and supervise the movement, deployment and redeployment of personnel and equipment; both in an Army and joint environment

  • Secret Clearance required

  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by assignment or contract

Experience & Education


  • Minimum of ten (10) years of military Transportation / Movement Control knowledge and/or training; experience must include at least two (2) years of OCONUS management level work required

  • Technical experience in the interpretation and use of transportation automation systems including but not limited to: GDSS, SMS, GATES, ITARS, GTN, AALPS, TC-AIMS II, IBS-CMM, WPS, TransLog Web, BCS3, JOPES, MTS, and Blue Force Tracker Defense Transportation System

  • Evaluation experience in site capability and limitation for depots, truck terminals, railheads, beachheads, air terminals, and water ports/terminals

  • Cargo documentation and logistical movement control experience in the transportation environment

  • Past supervisory experience in freight customs, personal property, and passenger travel

  • A former Army Transportation Corps O-2/3 or E-6/7 with movement control team leadership experience or civilian Movement Control Supervisor and/or Army Movement Control Team experience is a preferred

  • Bachelors’ degree in an associated discipline preferred

  • Additional experience/education may be required by assignment or contract and will be listed separately

Physical Requirements/Working Environment


  • Typically assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions

Travel


  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
