(AFG-Kabul) G1 Trainer (Administration) - Special Mission Wing (SMW)

Job Description:
The G1 Trainer shall contribute daily to the development of Afghan Air Force Personnel and Administration concepts, techniques and standards for implementation in the Afghan Air Force Special Operations/Mission Wing. The G1 trainer shall implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of personnel. Design and administer programs to train all levels of personnel. Develop tests and visual aids. Coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keep abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. If required, may use technical experts to assist in training.
Work Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to twelve (12) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct training on the following tasks:
a)Conduct Personnel Readiness Management; Conduct Replacement Operations; Provide Career Management; Provide Personnel Information Management; Perform Personnel Data Management; Maintain Personnel Records; Conduct Personnel Accounting and Strength Reporting; Provide Personnel Services: Conduct Casualty Operations; Perform Essential Personnel Services; Provide Identification Documents; Operate Award and Recognition Programs; Provide Personnel Promotion and Reductions Support; Control Personnel Evaluations; Operate Leave and Pass Program
b)Conduct Line of Duty Investigations; Provide Personnel Support; Conduct Retention Support/Separation Support; Morale, Welfare, Recreation Alcohol, Drug Abuse Prevention and Control; Equal Opportunity; Conduct HR Planning and Staff Operations; Perform Coordinating Staff Operations; Perform Pay Services; Process Pay roll with substantiating documents; Pay adjustment for personnel who went AWOL or absent; Request Bank of Kabul ID Card for Soldiers/ authorized surviving dependents; Enroll assigned personnel in EFT
c)Train their counterpart on the MoD-41 system to ensure pay inquiries are timely and accurate.
d)Train their counterpart on how to perform personnel services and support, personnel accountability, and strength reporting.
e)Provide daily Personnel Statistics (PERSTAT) on a Shared repository site to be specified or as needed. PERSTAT can be gathered directly from the SMW staff/commander and should be revalidated by actual personnel counts whenever feasible.
* Train ANA on how to complete awards, promotion paperwork, and personnel records in accordance with ANA policies.
* Report to the site manager, as well as the Program Manager located at Camp Morehead
* Responsible for regularly interacting with US military personnel
* Responsible for making on the scene decisions as to how to execute the curriculum
* Along with their local site managers, trainers will be responsible for assessing how well
the ANA students have learned the coursework
Required Operational, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* 6 years’ experience in the field, E8/O4 or higher with a background in military personnel administration operations. Must have served in either a Brigade S1 (preferred), Battalion S1 or Personnel Services Battalion (PSB). Must be a graduate of a formal US military school for Administrative/Personnel Management and awarded a military occupational specialty of 42A or service equivalent.
* Must be able to competently operate a Personal Computer to include excellent skills with MS Office (Word, PPT, Excel, etc.)

* Good Organizational Skills
* Good Project Management Ability and Skills
* Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance
* Must be able to obtain a Visa for Afghanistan
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs. per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.
- Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas.
- Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location.
- Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
- Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.
- Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
- Employee may be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
- The individual may be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
* Prefer a G1 with previous assignments with Infantry or Special Operations type units
* Prefer previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers
Required Education:
* Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of related work experience. 8 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
