Logistics Specialist - L-3 Communications - Madison, MS
Monitors program inventory in transit between sites and from warehouses to site locations; to include tracking AWB’s and MILAIRs
Oversees base site openings, closings and inventory transfers for Supply; to include working RFP’s for logistic efforts, ensuring transport coordination with appropriate warehouse personnel and ensure schedules are met
Works closely with import/export team and assists in facilitating parts moving in and out of country are on track with all appropriate documentation
Integrates learning from all facets (customers, competitors, distribution and transportation companies and industry groups) to improve competitive position by reducing costs and improving efficiencies
Research and develop material requirements to support proposal development for new programs and over and above actions of existing programs
Process site requirements, interface with Madison supply chain management and Program Management
Develop data and analysis to support program reporting requirements, lists, order status of all materials in the supply flow.
Extrapolate data from systems (like BDP, MRO and SAP) to track material movement
Communicate daily with site supply personnel, provide training, guidance and direction to site personnel in the administration of material/supply actions
Monitors and assists the procedures for the control and turn-in of serviceable and unserviceable, recoverable and repairable parts, materials and equipment
Ensures that products, materials, equipment and services conform to specified requirements and are delivered on time, at the lowest costs, to ensure economy of operations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 6-9 years of experience
Or equivalent education and (14) fourteen years of work experience
International travel is REQUIRED to areas in SWA to include Iraq and Afghanistan
Requires Formal U.S. Armed Forces, company or commercial equivalent training and have a minimum of five (5) years experience in aviation supply/logistics
Require current experience and proficient in the operation of SAP corporate logistics systems and be computer literate with experience in MS office software
Requires experience in tracking, tracing and working transportation issues with carriers, forwarders and brokers
Requires working knowledge, understanding and experience in import/export requirements
Requires ability to coordinate and facilitate logistical efforts on small, medium and large scale both within United States (US) and outside the US
Excellent communicative (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Technically knowledgeable with respect to Military or company supply and logistical systems/plans and aviation production principles
Thorough knowledge of procurement, inventory management, shipping, receiving, transportation, storage, turn-in property accountability and supply procedures/regulations
Must have knowledge of ITAR requirements, international shipping procedures and familiar with import/export documentation requirements
Knowledgeable of U.S. Government regulations for federal contractors and FAA Maintenance programs
Candidates must be able to obtain/maintain a secret clearance which requires US Citizenship and must be able to pass additional security background checks as required.
