SUMMARY


This is a Computer Technician position at a secure facility. Work hours will be M-F 0800 – 1630. There may be a requirement to work overtime on occasion to accommodate unique customer functions. Perform computer repairs, troubleshooting; maintain inventories and other assigned duties. Candidate must be able to work with only basic supervision.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Assists the LAN administrator in troubleshooting LAN systems and the Telephone Switch Technician with the telephone networks. Assists in LAN and server administration and installation / maintenance of telephone PBX system. Assist in VTS and BSOC-V on-site user support for LAN systems by helping with the handling and resolution of trouble tickets.


OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS


May be required to assist the COMSEC Responsible Officer in the maintenance, tracking and operation of COMSEC and related equipment. May be required to assist the Telephone Control Officer in submission of communication requirements utilizing Remedy process.


Qualifications


Qualifications


2+ years of overall experience in LAN Administration


High School Degree or higher


Must have some experience in network management and knowledge of broad-based computer network environments.


Must be able to support installation and implementations in accordance with Air Force regulations and specifications.


Must be customer service oriented and have good written and oral communications skills.


Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a current DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.


Must possess a CompTIA Security+ equivalence or higher.


Desired Skills:
Experience in supporting LAN users and knowledge in an enterprise Windows environment.


Demonstrated ability to add and remove computers from domain via server manager and setup, install and configure user computer’s as required.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Work is in a secure area with 95% of the work being performed indoors. Candidate must be able to physically perform the described in the job functions. Lifting up to 25lbs may be required during installation/removal of equipment.
