Duties:
- Conduct organized assessments and evaluations to understand and/or evaluate complex issues in order to inform decision making, policy development, system development, management, or administration of lab processes.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures relating to storage and disposal of evidence
- maintaining chain of custody.
- Monitor the movement and handling of lab equipment throughout the facility.
- Maintain, update, file, and track lab case records throughout the entire workflow, from case inception to completion.
- Ensure customers are provided final reports and results in a timely manner.
- Track and manage lab metrics.
- Answer requests for information.
- Disseminate reports and other duties as needed.
Skillset/Requirements:
Education: Minimum of a four-year degree from an accredited college or university in forensic science, criminology, physical or natural science, or related field. Eight (8) years of work experience is acceptable in lieu of a four-year degree.
Experience:
- Five (5) years’ experience:
- Planning, scheduling, and completing analysis and evaluation of complex projects to assess the effectiveness of management and/or program operations.
- Independently analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
- Developing new or modified administrative program policies, regulations, goals or objectives.
- Researching and investigating new or improved business and management practices for application to large and complex agency programs or operations.
- Assessing current organizational program assignment and responsibilities through research, interviews, and observations, and experience supervising personnel.
Citizenship/Clearance/Passport: Be a U.S. citizen, able to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance and U.S. Passport (candidates who possess a Secret Clearance and Passport preferred). Preferred: Previously deployment to Afghanistan, working with Afghans and training experience. Physical Requirements:
- US. Government background/personnel security requirements and be able to maintain those requirements
- Successfully complete pre-deployment training and fitness requirements specified by the U.S. Department of Defense for working overseas
- Be eligible and willing to carry government issued firearms
- Lift 70 lbs. to a working height of 48 inches
- General office and laboratory duties/functions
Work Location: Ministry of Interior (MOI) in Kabul with periodic travel to MOI Herat, Afghanistan Billeting Location: Q Kabul Hotel, Kabul, Afghanistan, with secure transportation to and from work location. HQ Location: Arlington, VA Clearance: Secret Contract: Now until 15 Sep 2016 (in proposal process for follow-on contract of 1 year plus 4 option years) (those willing to sign a year contract preferred)
