Dexis is seeking an experienced Power Engineer to provide power sector (energy and water) technical advice on USAID-funded projects. The primary work location for this role is Washington, DC with occasional travel to missions in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This is a short-term technical assistance opportunity. The start date for this position is October 2016.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical advice on power project designs, management and evaluations
- Reviews reports submitted by implementing partners on all assigned projects and comment on findings, report completeness, accuracy and recommended actions
- Facilitates the smooth operation of energy and power programs and reports on compliance with applicable rules and regulations
- Determines what additional analysis, assessments or reviews are required for the development of energy and power activities; designs and oversee the implementation of such analysis or assessment; and follows up as necessary
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering is required, Graduate degree is preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing civil engineering projects including 5 years of demonstrated experience in the power sector international development arena
- Should have a track record of experience in senior positions with firms, international donors or federal agencies. USAID experience is preferred
- Experience providing technical guidance on power projects is desired, preferably on projects in Afghanistan and/or Pakistan
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and willing to travel to hardship posts
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance
