Dari/Pashto Linguist - Leidos - Reston, VA

Description:
Leidos Global Services Group currently has an opening for a Pashto/Dari Linguist.

This position is 100% deployable to Afghanistan. Must currently possess a minimum Final Secret in JPAS, DIA Access preferred. Must be able to pass a SI and POLY. Must have a minimum of three years of cumulative experience living or working in Afghanistan after the age of eighteen. Linguists may work a variety of functions including but not limited to consecutive interpretation, translations, gisting, triage and quality control in a variety of locations.


REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: ALL LINGUIST PERSONNEL MUST BE ABLE TO:
1. Conduct interpretation simultaneously between and across the designated target language and English, during both in-person and telephonic engagement.

2. Write and speak clearly and coherently in the target language and English.

3. Translate general and technical material to and from Target language and English.

4. Maintain the integrity and meaning of the material.

5. Write reports, such as a gist, summary, transcript or full translation in the time allotted.

6. Be proficient in MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and using a computer and devices.

7. Must achieve a minimum test score of 4 for each test in the primary language and English


Qualifications:
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:
1. Able and willing to live and work in austere conditions

2. Have the physical and mental capacity to function in a high operational tempo and in crisis situations

3. Able to carry a 50 pound load and stack material 5′ high

4. Previous overseas deployment experience supporting contingency operations

5. Knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community, especially DIA

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Must have a minimum High School Diploma and nine years of work experience.
