(AFG) Program Planner/Scheduler 3 (Maintenance/Production Controller)- JM OCONUS


The Maintenance Production Control Specialist (PC) will be technically qualified as a subject matter expert (SME) in the field of aircraft maintenance including the necessary logistics/supply functions necessary to support those operations. Manage all maintenance support functions of assigned aircraft within their site and geographic region (domestic and foreign) to ensure continued airworthiness of aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration, Company and customer requirements. The incumbent must be proficient in using computerized data base management systems in addition to MS Office and MS Project software. The incumbent is under general supervision of the Site Maintenance Manager

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following duties. Additional essential functions may be identified by the organization and listed as such in the incumbent’s performance appraisal elements. Various tasks may be assigned under each essential function. Those that are listed under the examples of work are not all inclusive; they are examples only and may be amended or added to as needed by the organization.

* The Production Control Specialist manages the computerized Precision Asset Reporting System (PARS) to track and forecast scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions.



  • Serves as the primary point of contact between Site Maintenance Management personnel and the Tactical Operations Center to ensure all maintenance activities are scheduled around customer requirements.




  • Monitors and tracks all (domestic and foreign) scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, airframe/avionics modifications, special inspections, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements, and other customer directed maintenance on assigned aircraft.




  • Processes production planning reports and forecasts scheduled maintenance events for short-term, mid-term and long-term planning.




  • Coordinates maintenance and logistical support functions necessary to expedite corrective actions in order to reduce scheduling delays.




  • Coordinates the development of detailed work packages for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements.




  • Reviews work packages for technical accuracy and airworthiness documentation of work accomplished.




  • Review aircraft logbook entries upon completion of work to ensure conformity to FAR’s, GOP’s, QAM, and customer requirements.




  • Coordinates support to off-site mechanics to ensure documents, parts and supplies are expeditiously and accurately processed by the established procedures.




  • Coordinates necessary maintenance requirements from appropriate support shops ensuring adequate materials, tools, equipment, and support personnel are available.




  • Able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours and travel as required to support mission requirements.




  • Performs other duties as required.

    The incumbent performs other job-related tasks as assigned and required; any duties/tasks included in the employee’s performance evaluation elements are essential to that employee’s position within the job classification.



KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

The following skills and abilities are required:



  • Requires three (3) years previous work experience in aircraft maintenance production control or supervising aircraft maintenance activities.




  • A valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) is required.




  • Have a thorough knowledge of aircraft electrical, airframe and powerplant systems.




  • Experience with monitoring aircraft maintenance of diversified, as well as remotely located, aircraft fleet.




  • Working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations and Federal Acquisition Regulations.




  • Must be able to obtain and maintain in force a valid driver’s license.




  • Must have and maintain DOD Secret security clearance




  • Must meet all requirements to be able to deploy as necessary to OCONUS sites and pass CRC.




  • Must be proficient in using personal computers (PC) with computerized data base management systems in addition to MS Office and MS Project software.




  • Must obtain a US Passport for deployment purposes.
