(AFG) Network Technician- Afghanistan- Top Secret Clearance required

L-3 National Security Solutions has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Network Administrator (NA). This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization based in Afghanistan.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both in writing and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts along with the ability to operate individually across a wide range of networking and systems issues. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users and will report directly to the Principle Network Engineer (PNE) for this task.

Specifically, the NA will provide varying network support to NIPR, SIPR, and CXI networks to meet operational requirements and ensure full interoperability and seamless interface between internal and external systems. The NA will assist the PNE in maintaining network performance by monitoring, analyzing, providing performance tuning; and troubleshooting network issues. The NA will also be responsible for maintaining related documentation. Additionally, the NA will perform on-site installations, configure the hardware and software for the appropriate service, pull and install necessary cabling, and test for connectivity and interoperability.

The NA must be able to support all means of transmission (e.g. Satellite, Fiber, Twisted Pair, etc.) as well as possess hands on experience with networking devices and cabling infrastructure. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency with computer networking. The NA will recommend technical solutions that improve network efficiencies and performance, develop technical documentation for approved technical solutions such as diagrams and configuration files. Additionally, the NA may be required to provide remote support and travel to remote customer sites as part of their duties.

Required:

• Top Secret Clearance based on a SSBI AND able to meet the requirements of DCID 6/4

• Security or Network Certification

• 6 years of experience in Network Administration work

• Willing to be based in an OCONUS location for up to 1 year

• Good communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through

• Ability to successfully operate individually or as part of a team across a myriad of networking/systems/communications subjects.

• CCNA or equivalent certification

Desired:

• CCNP

• CCIE

• CISSP Certification

• ITIL v3 Foundation Certification

• Experience supporting Special Operations Forces
