This is a Senior HUMINT Analyst (SHA) supporting the International Security Assistance Force- Afghanistan (ISAF-A) and/or US Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A). The SHA supports a CI/HUMINT or intelligence analytical team of military and/or DoD civilian analysts in support of CJ2X and/or CJ2 analytical requirements. Provides analysis of IIRs and HRs; feedback and IIR and HR evaluations; source directed requirements (SDR)s; time sensitive collection requirements (TSCR)s; ad-hoc collection requirements (AHCR)s; and supports source validation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The SHA conducts analysis of source reliability and report credibility, and communicates that analysis to the collector in support of the source validation process.
This position provides HUMINT analysis and assessments in support of HUMINT source validation.
The SHA is responsible for researching, developing and presenting CI/HUMINT and all-source intelligence products at the tactical, operational and strategic level as part of an overall analytical team.
The SHA is also responsible for intelligence analysis related to counter-terrorism, HUMINT, Afghanistan and South West Asia regional issues, political/military analysis and support to targeting.
The SHA serves as a senior HUMINT analytical advisor on an intelligence analytical team of military and/or DoD civilian analysts in support of the CJ2X and/or CJ2 analytical requirements.
The SHA will provide quality control of HUMINT reporting, identify emerging trends and patterns from HUMINT reporting, develop all-source association matrices on screened individuals of CI interest, construct link diagrams and other data visualization tools, conduct priority intelligence requirements (PIR)/Host National Information Requirements (HNIR)/Information Requirements (IR) indicator analysis to focus collection efforts, develop and sustain a CI/HUMINT situation map (SITMAP) using existing technologies, support the Senior CI/HUMINT Special Advisor and the supported command CJ2Xs, conduct HUMINT and multi-discipline CI analysis, and mission analysis for the supported commander.
The SHA is responsible for researching, developing and presenting HUMINT and/or intelligence products at the operational and strategic levels for senior leaders, to include counter-terrorism, HUMINT, Afghanistan and South West Asia regional issues, political/military analysis and support to targeting.
Required Qualifications:This position requires a minimum of 10 years analytical experience within DoD or equivalent Government agencies required, with 6 years HUMINT or CI operational or operational support experience. South West Asia Foreign Area Officer background qualifies for the South West Asia regional specialist position.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.
Requires a strong background in the following analytical areas: South West Asia regional analysis, political analysis, Intelligence Collection, and HUMINT or CI analysis.
Must be proficient in utilizing basic computer applications and intelligence related automation to support analytical efforts and product development.
Must possess strong briefing skills and be capable of effectively directing subordinate analysts in the accomplishment of intelligence products and assessments.
Requires Top Secret/SCI clearance.
