We are looking for an experienced Editor with comprehensive non-linear editing skills to effectively edit visual concepts and provide creative input while operating computer video equipment in accordance with established CBN and industry standards and protocol; offering the ability to create desired effects with multiple media formats, and provide logistical support and collaboration to the editing session, resulting in the successful completion of projects for the team based in Virginia Beach, VA.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

3 – 5 years experience at a postproduction or broadcast facility

Must possess comprehensive knowledge of computer editing systems, software and related equipment as well as exhibit creative concepts of editing composition with ability to learn quickly and apply new and advanced technology. Exceptional editing skills identifiable by team leaders and peers and measurable by visual appeal and in compliance with appropriate technical standards.

Ability to exercise story-telling concepts related to a given script or project with the willingness and judgment to choose media and effects appropriate for conveying ideas to fulfill the assignment.

Demonstrative knowledge of NTSC and PAL digital television standards as well as necessary frame rate conversion techniques.

Must be skilled in color perception, correction and effects, and possess meticulous attention to detail in visual composition.

Mastered knowledge and performance in the following areas as well as applicable corresponding software:

Layered digital video effects

I/O and signal processing equipment

Monitoring devices and equipment

Ability to communicate and collaborate well with positive interpersonal and intercultural skills in a team environment.

Must exhibit excellent audio mixing and editing techniques.

Competent in computer diagnostic skills to resolve technical problems and discrepancies with both hardware and software that are involved in the digital editing processes.

Possess complete confidence and efficiency in performance of duties under acute high-pressure situations involving tight air deadlines.

Flexibility to perform during changing and multiple shifts as needed with extended hours and meet expectations of last minute work demands.
