Description:


The Initiative for Hygiene, Sanitation, and Nutrition ( IHSAN )is a five year project whose goal is to assisting the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan ( GIRoA ) , civil society organizations ( CSOs ) , and the private sector to carry out and scale up evidence based nutrition and water, hygiene, and sanitation ( WASH ) interventions that will improve the nutritional status of women and children less than five years old . Specific project objectives include enhancing capacity to institutionalize nutrition programs, increasing adoption of optimal nutrition and hygiene behaviors at community and household levels; and increasing availability of nutrition, hygiene, and sanitation services and products increased . The project will focus on the 10 provinces with poorest nutritional indicators based on the 2014 national nutrition assessment . Recognizing that significant variations in health situations exist between districts and sub districts in each province, we will promote improved nutrient intake and awareness and improved sanitation and hygiene practices by working with provincial health authorities and communities to strive toward improved coverage in priority areas .


Job Summary / Responsibilities:


The Training Coordinator will be an FHI 360 employee working and placed at the IHSAN office in Kabul . S / he will provide logistical and administrative support for national level trainings, contribute to design, planning, and content of training materials with stakeholders, and collate training documentation for all national level IHSAN workshops . The Coordinator will report to the Capacity Development Advisor and take technical direction from the WASH and Nutrition Training Managers .


The responsibilities of the position include:



  • Coordinates all planning, bookings and logistics for all training activities, including the agenda, calendar, materials, and registration with the participants.




  • In consultation with technical and program staff to design, review and update the resource/training materials to ensure training content is aligned to gap and needs assessments.




  • Monitors and evaluates all activities related to training and workshops including pre-and post-training checks/assessments, evaluations, reviews, and reporting.




  • Coordinates and communicateswith trainers on training operations, course calendars, training materials, needs assessment etc.




  • Manages filing, storage and tracking of hardcopy and electronic training content and support templates and ensure availability of current information on related subjects.




  • Supportsprogram staff to strengthen the capacity building support toNGOs, CBOs, private and public institutions.




  • Contributes to progress reports, detailing activities, constraints and issues and project technical assistance needs.




  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:


Experience and Qualifications :



  • Degree in public health or related field




  • At least 3 years working in health development sector assisting non-government organization(NGO)or public sector programs.




  • At least 3 years of experience in capacity building and training of NGOs, public and private Afghan institutions.




  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Dari; Pashto fluency is highly desired.




  • Skills and experience in community mobilization, education and training to support health programs.




  • Experience liaising with community and organizational leaders, donors, government officials, and representatives from other organizations.




  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with stakeholders and colleagues.




  • Demonstrated proficiency with using Microsoft Office Suite required.




  • Ability to problem solve and implements corrective action as needed.




  • Ability to work both independently and in collegial fashion with wide range of stakeholders.




  • Qualified female candidates particularly encouraged to apply.
