Based in our New York City Headquarters, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) is seeking a Manager, Fundraising Operations and Database. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization as it enters its second decade at the forefront of the veterans’ movement, advocating for our newest generation of heroes.


The Manager, Fundraising Operations and Database will work as part of our Development Division to ensure the execution of all database-driven needs and oversee donor stewardship and fundraising operations. The Manager, Fundraising Operations and Database will also design and support improvements to the team’s processes (both automated and manual). S/he will oversee quality control on all aspects of fundraising operations, data input and exports and other fundraising initiatives in Salesforce, our high-tech and powerful customer relationship management database. S/he will also work across the Development team and Executive Office to ensure smooth, integrated communication and keep all top fundraising priorities aligned.


The Manager, Fundraising Operations and Database will report directly to the Chief Resources Officer

Responsibilities


Strategize, design and implement any needed process improvements for the Development Division;


Ongoing importing and exporting of donor data to track fundraising efforts in Salesforce;


Maintain quality control over the data inputs and outputs for the Development Division;


Create and generate all reports necessary to track fundraising performance across the organization;


Optimize Salesforce usage to steward donors effectively and creatively;


Conduct monthly income reconciliation with the Finance Department to ensure accuracy and consistency of reports;


Serve as a liaison between the Development Division and the Executive Office to keep communication and prioritization in sync;


Document and maintain Development Division policy;


Implement and develop the donor stewardship program;


Education and Experience


Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of development experience required;


Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and Google Apps;


Knowledge and understanding of Salesforce CRM;


Experience in large and small-scale event planning and execution;


Exceptional writing and communications skills; strong editing and proofreading;


Knowledge of NY Philanthropic community a plus;


Experience working in a fast-paced environment;
