for the WarFighter Focus (WFF) Contract


at Kandahar, Afghanistan


Essential Job Functions:



  • The subcontractor shall ensure this Gunsmith/Weapon Specialists Trainer trains Gunsmith/weapons specialists to possess the skills to independently conduct the following tasks:




  • a. Repair, service, and cannibalization; weapons condition codes; weapon maintenance repair levels; weapons maintenance flow chart IAW ANA Weapon Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Decree 4.9, 12



  • b. Direct and General Support level (Depot level) maintenance of the following specific (but not limited to) weapon systems: M4, M9, M240, M249, M203, M24 Sniper Systems, 60MM Mortars, 81MM Mortars, M1014 Shotgun, and additional weapons systems added to the Tashkil or issued to ANASOC

  • c. Armorer duties; differences between Garrison and Field Duty; file management; publication management; supply management; maintenance management; physical security; key control; firearm operating characteristics; Cycle of Function; Weapons Cooling Systems; Operations System Design; safety awareness concepts; safety rules; weapon clearing procedures; safe use of cleaning products; safe use of power tools; shop safety and maintenance discipline; armorer tools and shop equipment; proper handling, use, and care of tools; inventory and shop management; maintenance management system; ANA Weapon Maintenance SOP; weapon repair process; weapon condition codes; control substitution on weapons; use of various MoD Forms IAW ANA Weapon Maintenance SOP; establish and maintain PLL stocking list; establish and maintain parts room; the importance of inventory PLL parts; turn-in process of weapons and NVGs;; weapons schedule services process; troubleshooting procedures IAW Technical Manuals

  • d. Unit – operator organizational maintenance; initial inspection, corrective action, and final inspections; perform equipment PMCS on weapon systems, NVDs, and PEQ-2A; perform unit level maintenance and repair on weapon systems; perform basic issue items inventory; operator level PMCS on Night Vision Devices IAW ARMY TM 11-5855-262-10-2


  • e. Support Level Maintenance: troubleshooting procedures, initial inspection, corrective action, final inspection, maintenance, and repair of weapons systems. ANASOC personnel shall NOT be trained in support-level maintenance/repair of night vision devices.




  • Conducts training courses, both on-site and on-line, for the company’s applications and systems to include lectures and hands-on sessions.



  • Works with applicable business unit/area to establish specifications of course, prerequisite skills and knowledge for trainees. Ensures that training courses address all levels of employee. Assists in the design and development of technical training programs and curriculums, both on-site and on-line, for employees on various software and/or hardware applications and systems.

  • Researches and assists in writing technical and user manuals to support training. Works with engineering, technical support, and/or applicable area to ensure that material is accurate and reflects current product features.

  • Gathers, reviews and analyzes course evaluations to determine effectiveness of training sessions. Prepares recommendations and reports to senior level personnel and/or management. Implements approved revisions to course materials as necessary to improve training effectiveness.

  • Reviews, as requested, external training programs to determine feasibility of purchase as requested. Makes recommendations to management as appropriate.

  • Remains informed of and maintain proficiency with applicable company products.

  • Works with senior level personnel and business units/technical areas to conduct needs assessments to ensure training needs are met.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, engineering or related field preferred

  • Four or more years of technical training experience

  • Experience working with company software, systems, applications and network products

  • Experience working with communications practices, principles and procedures for both onsite and on-line presentations.

Additional Qualifications:


  • Two additional years of related training experience

  • Shall ensure this Trainer has appropriate level of experience as US military unit armory and/or civilian equivalent of gunsmith certification from any approved State

  • 1 year experience maintaining Night Vision Optics Systems and Electronics Systems

  • Served as a military occupational specialty 91 or service equivalent

  • Must currently possess at a minimum an Interim security clearance and be able to obtain/maintain an active/valid US security clearance.

  • Communication skills to write training manuals and procedures

  • Presentation skills to train and educate employees on technical material and applications

  • Interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of employees

  • Comprehension skills for understanding products and applying knowledge to presentation

  • Personal computer and business solutions software skills

  • Analytical skills

  • Organization and time management skills

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality regarding employee information

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability and desire to actively pursue learning opportunities in the technical/engineering and training fields

  • Ability to understand and apply federal, state and local changes to and/or new regulations/laws pertaining to human resources

  • Willingness to travel

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
