About the Business Line Government


AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.


Job Summary AECOM Has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the MOSC-A contract for a Lead Generator Mechanic. The Lead Mechanic services and repairs of air compressors, light sets, military generators and commercial generators as required from 3.5KVA to 750KVA in size. Diagnoses the source of trouble and determines the extent of repairs required, replaces worn or broken parts and repairs fuel injector systems. Assists in scheduling leave, maintain time and attendance records and maintains equipment logs. Accountable for all government and company property that is required, received, stored and utilized to include safeguarding its issuing and control in accordance with governing directives. Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.




  • Certified training on power generators required.




  • 4-5 years experience in power generation equipment repairs required.




  • 4-5 years experience in Electrical background preferred.




  • Ability to analyze and interpret US Army technical manuals as they relate to position and duties.




  • Must complete General Trade Skills PQS within 30 days of hire.




  • Must be able to multi-task.




  • Must have expert mechanic skills.




  • Must have expert troubleshooting skills.




  • Must have excellent English communications skills, both oral and written.




  • Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.) Must be able to understand and interpret wiring diagrams.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Military Training or similar vocational education trade training preferred




  • 1-3 years experience in Electrical background preferred




  • Experience in the Army 52 D or 91 D MOS or equivalent preferred.
