About the Business Line Government
AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
Job Summary AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan as a Crane Operator on the MOSC-A contract. The Crane Operator operates Cranes in excess of 22.5 Tons and up to 120 Tons. Operates Cranes to move, position, lift or place machinery, equipment or other large objects at various sites. Loads or repositions heavy equipment such as cranes, tankers, and large industrial tractors and attachments as mission dictates. Conducts PMCS and operator vehicle and equipment checks using the appropriate forms. Operates heavy equipment such as forklifts, wheel tractors and off-highwaytrucks. Performs generalized maintenance and safety checks on equipment and minor repairs. Uploads and downloads supplies, equipment, ISO containers and flat racks. Conducts inventory of all classes of supply, prepares cargo for movement, and blocks and braces to secure loads prior to movement. Works in tandem with other team members in support of the overall mission. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Crane Operators hired after 1 February 2013 are required to have NCCCO certification or equivalent in anticipation of the implementation of the new OSHA requirement.
1-3 years crane operating experience required.
1-3 years experience and or training on RTCH and forklifts required.
Must possess a NACI prior to start date.
Must be able to carry out the safe rigging of equipment, tubular and materials, operate equipment safely and perform minor repairs.
Must be able to help set up the crane, which requires agility and the physical strength to lift heavy parts.
Must have knowledge and experience of automated supply systems, equipment operations and regulations,
Must have valid driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain a DA Form 5984-E Army standard license upon arrival.
Preferred Qualifications
- Overseas contractor experience preferred.
