Junior Applications Engineer - Data Systems Analysts, Inc. - O'Fallon, IL

Data Systems Analysts, Inc. has an opening for a Junior Applications Engineer. This is a full time position in O’Fallon, in support of the US Air Force. Responsible for designing and developing application interfaces for the client’s solution as directed. May need to collaborate with the project team to define and design interface components for the solution. Work with a team of application engineers and software analysts to deliver new and/or improved Global Decision Support System (GDSS) applications and its interfaces.

DESCRIPTION


The Jr Software Engineer/Developer will have basic experience in translating IT requirements in the design, development, and assembly of components to create custom information systems. Typical examples of the deliverables are functional and technical designs, models, components, code, unit tests, and documentation. Capable of developing on a .Net platform using Oracle PL/SQL and PHP primarily. Responsible for creating and/or re-engineering GDSS applications and appliances, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current GDSS and future enterprise and systems environments.


Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret level clearance.


SKILLS


Knowledge of software requirements development and systems analysis and design.


Knowledge of, understanding and compliance with development standards and SDLC to ensure consistency


Development on a .Net platform using Oracle PL/SQL and PHP


Capable of software engineering and design based on communicated system-level requirements, user needs and use cases using developer tools such as Oracle Developer Studio and/or Zend Developer Studio


Basic knowledge of third party controls that help with the Requirements Gathering. Documentation. System and Application Design process.


Knowledge of database uses and design is desirable


EXPERIENCE


Associates degree or higher in information systems management or related field with a minimum of one plus (1+) years of work experience designing developing software applications and interfaces


At least 1 years’ experience in design/development of .NET application interfaces


At least 1 years’ experience in analyzing user requirements and proposing potential system solutions.


At least 1 years’ experience in PHP and Oracle PL/SQL


Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills.


Desirable: Experience with DOD.


Desirable: Certified in Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (.NET Framework – ASP, ADO)


EDUCATION


Associate’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical disciplines or equivalent years of experience.
