JOB DESCRIPTION:

Base Expeditionary Targeting and Surveillance Systems – Combined (BETSS-C) Program Force Protection Advisor / Liaison Officer (LNO) to U.S. Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A); Train, Advise, Assist Command – East; and Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, Technology) Command Leadership Actively supports the BETSS-C Program by providing strategic & tactical planning expertise services across USFOR-A, ASA (ALT) and TAAC-East Commands in order to maintain / enhance operational camera systems support for deployed units w/in designated Area of Responsibility. LNO will provide SME recommendations for deployment of specific systems, with emphasis on operational capabilities, limitations, tactical employment for, and unit pre-installation site requirements for all BETSS-C fielded and/or requested camera systems – including the Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment (RAID), Cerberus, Force Protection Suite (FPS), Bi-static Surveillance System (BSS), and Rapid Deployment Integrated Surveillance Systems (RDISS) w/Mid-range Thermal Imager (MRTI) Cameras. Advises BETSS-C Program & ASA (ALT) Leadership on FOB Closure and Transfer Planning, coordinates responses for Requests for Information, Survey, Sustainment, Property Accountability, Training Coordination, and required retrograde requirements. Produces a Weekly Rollup of BETSS-C Activities and briefs command leadership necessary to maintain situational awareness and obtain required support. Efficiently works with various subordinate units to develop Operational Needs Statements (ONS) to facilitate approval for, and installation of desired camera systems. As required, assists with maintaining personnel accountability & daily reporting of SAIC contractor personnel deployed across the theater, and effectively communicates with SAIC Managers in CONUS and Theater.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION:

– A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 6+ years related experience is required.



  • 10+ years related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.




  • Six (6) years of related Force Protection, operations, liaison, logistics, and/or technical experience is required.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:




  • Subject Matter Expert regarding employment and capabilities of BETSS-C System of Systems.




  • Self-starter with strong interactive management skills essential to assist military leadership w/developing Force Protection system requirements and in generating Operational Needs Statements (ONS) and/or Rapid Equipping Force (REF) 10 Line requests for BETSS-C systems.




  • Solid oral & written communications skills essential – w/experience completing logistical and personnel reports.




  • Must be able to independently prepare and conduct briefings on BETSS-C Systems and support requirements to senior government / military officials.




  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Direct Army operations experience w/Afghan Deployment(s) desired.




  • Attendance to CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) or MOD 12 and T-Certs qualifications within past 12 months.




  • Possessing U.S. passport with current Afghan Multiple Entry Visa valid through January 2017 or longer.




  • Prior staff level operations experience with BETSS-C program




  • Military S3 Operations Officer or Senior Operations NCO experience at the Battalion or higher level.

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:



  • Must possess a SECRET security clearance

    ADDITIONAL REQUIRMENTS:


  • Must meet DoD Height / Weight standards




  • Must satisfactorily complete CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) requirements (including medical and dental requirements prior to deployment)




  • Must be willing to live and work in austere, hostile environment for extended periods of time
