(AFG-KANDAHAR) Transportation Foreman
Job Summary
The Transportation Foreman ensures the dispatch of buses and scheduling of bus routes.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- Coordinate and perform bus driver training.
- Ensure the preparation and scheduling of bus routes.
- Periodically check schedules, bus stops, and proficiency of drivers.
- Ensure that drivers are properly conducting daily bus inspections and reporting any conditions requiring service and/or repair.
- Conduct the investigation of accidents and formal complaints involving school buses.
- Evaluate and address overload problems and proposed bus stop changes.
- Plan and enforce safety requirements and driver supervision of assigned crews on life support transport missions.
- Ensure highest level of vehicle and staff safety through compliance with all assigned procedures, plans, and programs.
- Check vehicle operations; and, support/assist in making inspections as required.
- Assist administrator in preparing operational reports and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
- Participate in convoy planning and enforce safety discipline and rules during convoy operations.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrated successful experience leading distribution and transportation employees.
- Results oriented leader, with solid judgment and decision making skills.
- Demonstrated successful ability working with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of First Aide procedures.
- Adept in report writing, recordkeeping, and personnel management.
- Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a transportation company.
- Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
