CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Active Directory / Exchange Systems Engineer. This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DOD) organization OCONUS in Afghanistan.


Specifically the Active Directory / Exchange Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting systems and applications on a geographically dispersed Windows 2008 and 2012 network with multiple types of servers and server applications. The successful candidate will provide support as the theatre escalation point for Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange issues in the enterprise, including troubleshooting related issues and using Remedy ticketing system to document and track trouble tickets. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing Active Directory/Exchange support at the CJOA-A level following theatre-approved doctrine and guidelines, with tasks including: (but not limited to) working with Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, SQL, SharePoint, DHCP, Scripting, SCCM, SCOM, and VMware ESXi. The level of support provided by the successful candidate will need to be commensurate with the requirements of a multi-site Microsoft Exchange 2003-2007 organization in order to meet and maintain appropriate service levels. Additional responsibilities include: planning, testing, tuning, configuring, and setup of Microsoft Exchange architecture as well as supporting OWA and complex client Outlook issues that impact the enterprise. Additionally, the Engineer will provide remote support and/or travel to various OCONUS customer servers and sites as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience and a strong engineering background with Active Directory/Exchange Administration.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.

Requirements:



  • Be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)




  • DOD 8570 IAT III (CISSP or equivalent)




  • Must be willing/able to work OCONUS for minimum of one year




  • Must be able to complete and pass all CRC screening requirements




  • Must have experience with and be knowledgeable about Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange




  • Must have experience with the Remedy ticketing system




  • Must have knowledge of GPOs, DNS, SQL, SharePoint, DHCP, Scripting, SCCM, SCOM, and VMware ESXi.




  • Recommend best-practice solutions for server technologies




  • End-to-end monitoring of application performance and availability




  • Provide technical leadership and cross-training to peers in areas of expertise




  • Act as a resource to team members, participates in team and professional meetings




  • Coaches and provides input as to the needs of Infrastructure staff;




  • Provide 3rd line technical support as needed




  • 6+ years of experience in Systems Engineering work with demonstrated increased responsibility




  • Professional and responsible system administration of Microsoft Windows servers




  • Experience and a strong engineering background in Microsoft Active Directory Design and Domain Name Services (DNS)




  • Microsoft Exchange experience




  • Effective communications throughout all levels of operational command




  • Ability to document system process and architecture

    Certifications:




  • Professional certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570.01. IAT III (CISSP or equivalent)




  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Server Infrastructure or equivalent certification




  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) in server administration for 2008/2012




  • Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA)




  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2010




  • MCITP- Enterprise Messaging Administrator 2010



Education / Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (technology field is highly desired) and 4 or more years of software/systems administration experience are required.




  • Associate and two years of additional experience (6 or more year’s total) is also acceptable.



Desired:



  • Top secret clearance




  • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files




  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs




  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards




  • Documentation experience using Microsoft Visio or similar products.




  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
