(AFG) Pilot Mgr 4 (Flight Operations Manager)


Responsible for providing operational site leadership to a customer-focused team or group of teams committed to increased quality and productivity. Provides both strategic and operational leadership for business programs, operations and functional organizations. In accordance with organization goals, provides direction on activities and behaviors. Ensures quality service and effective operations support for the site’s internal and external customers. Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors. Identifies and analyzes problems, plans, task, and solutions. Provides guidance to site on development, performance, and productivity issues. Monitors and ensures proper use of assets. Reports to Program Management Office on site productivity. Directs, schedules, plans, organizes and coordinate flight operations to ensure mission objectives as established by the contract. Coordinates with maintenance personnel to analyze and correct aircraft discrepancies. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials, assets, and human resources. Oversee activities directly related to satisfying contractual obligations. Direct and coordinate activities of Site and departments concerned with satisfying contractual obligations. Review activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement. Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties. Support Program policies, goals, objectives, and procedures. Determine staffing requirements, and oversee those personnel processes. Determine staffing goals, and set performance objectives, based on forecasts of customer demand.


  • Must be a quick learner with the ability to think independently and with minimal oversight.

  • Must be able to manage both current and future operations.

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced workplace with excellent time management skills.

  • Must be able to direct and coordinate people and manage human resources issues in accordance with company policies.

  • Knowledge of functions and performance of the EO/IR sensor systems, illuminator, dispenser equipment, communications equipment and allied components; use of ALSE; in-flight and emergency procedures; and current flying directives.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software.

  • Must be eligible to deploy to OCONUS locations and be and maintain physically qualified.

  • Experience with the business processes/Government contracts procedures highly desired.

  • Special Operations and/or Flight management experience in civil or military aviation highly desired

  • Current or recent experience with ISR government contract flight support is highly desired.


  • Requires DOD Secret clearance and if required may require TOP SECRET/SCI as the contract may specify.
