AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. Job Summary
AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan for a Mechanic on the MOSC-A contract. The Mechanic troubleshoots and repairs work on suspensions, engines, frames, transfers, transmissions, differentials, hydraulic systems, fuel and pneumatic systems, teering mechanisms and turbo chargers. Ensures that safety and environmental policies and guidelines are followed without exception.
Maintains and oversees section tool/bench stock room and operation. Acts as primary key custodian of sections IAW Army Regulation 190-51, Appendix D. Conducts cross training for other employees. Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
1-3 years experience as a mechanic required.
Must be able to pass General Trade Skill PQS within 30 days of hire.
Must have knowledge of diesel engines.
Must have the ability to analyze and interpret US Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair.
May be required to obtain a military driver’s license (OF 346)
Must be proficient in English as demonstrated through oral and written abilities.
