Summary:TheSharePoint Developerprovides web design services, acts as the SharePoint Site Engineer, and is responsible for all technical aspects of the SharePoint Farm.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)


· Responsible for all aspects of the SharePoint Farm, including requests for modifications and maintenance of the SharePoint farm for high availability.


· Provide on the job training, mentoring, documentation, and support for locally employed staff members in all facets of the position – particularly SharePoint web modifications, work flows, maintenance and troubleshooting.


· Consults closely with Embassy stakeholders under the guidance of the Information Management Office to determine requirements, needs, strategies, and goals for web pages and related SharePoint applications.


· Responsible for the design, creation, maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting of multiple websites, web applications, and SharePoint sites.


· Design and maintain support systems including access methods, device allocations, organization, security, documentation, guidelines and standards; Monitor, review, recommend, and implement the modification of SharePoint sites.


· Under general supervision from ISC/IPC, develop web pages and SharePoint sites, converts requirements into functional web applications and interacts daily with customer and data users and responsible for designing web pages including graphics, animation, and functionality and develop web page infrastructure and applications related to pages with more advanced graphics and features.


· Develop, assess and communicate web site usage and security policies and standards. Consult with users and Information Managers to determine requirements, needs strategies, and goals for web pages and related applications.


· Work towards the goal of local staff assuming increasing responsibility for all functions pertaining to SharePoint support.

Supervisory Responsibilities:This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities; however, it will require technical oversight to the project teams and work of more junior staff, as well as provide technical training to Government and other contractor staff.


Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience and have comprehensive knowledge of Federal Government SharePoint development standards and methodologies.




  • Two years of experience designing, creating, maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting customer websites, web applications, and SharePoint sites using .NET and C#. This includes capturing and converting requirements into functional web applications as well as interacting with customers and other stakeholders to implement new requirements




  • Minimum of 2 years of experience creating SharePoint forms and work flows using InfoPath and C#.




  • Experience must include the following; graphics, animation, and web page infrastructure/applications related to pages with more advanced graphics and features; web page security, documentation, guidelines and standards.

· Must have some experience with graphics, animation, and web page infrastructure/applications related to pages with more advanced graphics and features. Must have experience with web page security, documentation, guidelines and standards.


· Medical services and treatment is limited. Pre-deployment physical / screening for pre-existing medical conditions and current vaccinations will be required before deployment.


· Must possess a Valid US Passport.


· Must have the ability to live in communal environments and work in austere and/or harsh environments.


· Consulate locations in Afghanistan and may travel to remote Provincial Reconstruction Team locations as necessary.

· During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
