Description:
The Initiative for Hygiene, Sanitation, and Nutrition ( IHSAN ) is a five – year project whose goal is to assisting the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan ( GIRoA ) , civil society organizations ( CSOs ) , and the private sector to carry out and scale up evidence – based nutrition and water, hygiene, and sanitation ( WASH ) interventions that will improve the nutritional status of women and children less than five years old . Specific project objectives include enhancing capacity to institutionalize nutrition programs, increasing adoption of optimal nutrition and hygiene behaviors at community and household levels; and increasing availability of nutrition, hygiene, and sanitation services and products increased . The project will focus on the 10 provinces with poorest nutritional indicators based on the 2014 national nutrition assessment . Recognizing that significant variations in health situations exist between districts and sub – districts in each province, we will promote improved nutrient intake and awareness and improved sanitation and hygiene practices by working with provincial health authorities and communities to strive toward improved coverage in priority areas .
Job Summary / Responsibilities:
The Coordinating Body Liaison will be an FHI 360 employee working and placed at the IHSAN office in Kabul . S / he will coordinate meetings, attend to logistical and administrative needs of all coordinating body members, keep meeting minutes and associated documentation, and serve as the primary point of contact for the various coordinating bodies with facilitated meetings and activities .
The responsibilities of the position include:
Coordinates, arranges, and attends all meetings and events and attends to logistical and administrative needs of all coordinating body members .
Writes, coordinates and communicates the agenda, action items, meeting notes, reports, correspondenceand associated documentation with all coordinating body members and project management .
Serves as the primary point of contact for and facilitates appropriate communication with the various coordinating body membersbycoordinating timelycommunications to ensurethat the members are updated on activities.
Collaborates withcoordinating body membersto set strategic direction and ensure programs and/or activities are planned and implementedaccording to the members’ roles and responsibilities.
Develops, strengthens, and maintains close relationships, and shares information and resources to support the work of thecoordinating body members .
Facilitates the work of the members in the coordinating bodies particularly when there is a need to report or to seek approval of recommendations from the group.
Enables early identification of problems or concerns raised in these coordinating bodies and supports effective discussion/action to resolve issues raised.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience and Qualifications :
At least 3 years working in health development sector assisting non-government organization(NGO)or public sector programs
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Dari; Pashto fluency is highly desired.
Experience liaising with community and organizational leaders, donors, government officials, and representatives from other organizations.
Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with stakeholders and colleagues.
Demonstrated proficiency with using Microsoft Office Suite required.
Ability to analyze and interpret data, identify errors, and prepare reports.
Ability to problem solve and implements corrective action as needed.
Ability to work both independently and in collegial fashion with wide range of stakeholders.
Prior experience in a NGO preferred.
