(AFG-Bagram) Logistics Specialist, MARSS, Army C-12, Bagram
Basic Functions Summary:
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the Inventory Management at the site level. This position reports directly to the Lead Mechanic/Site Manager.
Provides support to the material planning and control function. Prepares and monitors material requisitions and material schedules with production schedules. Operates and maintains the aircraft material and support equipment inventory and maintenance tracking tool and proactively coordinates the exchange of material in association with the aircraft and aircraft GSE with the CONUS Material Managers.
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for, but not limited, to the following duties and functions:
• Provides expert advice, assistance, guidance, or operational support to identify and utilize existing regional or global resources, identify alternative capabilities, and plan for effective integration of public and private sector support or resources
• Provides services including, but not limited to, contingency planning, inventory and property planning, movement, storage, and accountability, as well as communications and logistics systems to permit rapid deployment and management of on-site supplies and equipment.
• Ensures reporting is conducted in a timely manner
• Ensures aircraft material documentation and records are maintained and supports requests for information and audits as required.
• Responsible for the continuous and accurate management of the material database.
• Supports all assigned metric gathering and reporting requirements.
May be required to support operational or sustainment tasks unrelated to the above job description.
Position may be located at Bagram and Kandahar, based upon contractual need.
Work hours may be adjusted for operational requirements.

Education and Experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Requires four (4) years of Commercial or Military Aviation Supply/Logistics experience.
• Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) or Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) experience strongly desired.
• Experience in, and capable of, managing supply functions such as: storage, issue, inspection, research, repairable processing, shipping, receiving, warehousing, aircraft maintenance support, preparing requisitions, and accounting for aircraft parts and equipment
• Experience coordinating requirements submitted by the sites providing interface to the Fleet Support Team and Program Office as applicable.
• Experience in maintaining and updating aircraft data collection systems files.
• Experience with aviation parts and support equipment utilized. Requires a working knowledge of computer data systems used to order, maintain and account for aviation supplies and equipment as described
Qualifications:
• Must be able to meet the MOD 11 USEDNTCOM Individual Protection and Individual/Unit Deployment Policy, Tab A: Amplification of the Minimal Standards of Fitness for Deployment to the CENTCOM AOR, or any other requirement by CRC.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance to support contractual obligations.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a passport and visa for overseas travel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Familiarity with logistics support procedures used to support material requirements.
• Knowledge of, and the ability to, initiate surveys, validate status, inventory aircraft, and perform budget accounting.
• Leadership and management skills directing assigned personnel complying with established policies, procedures, and operations throughout the organization.
• Ability to communicate accurately and concisely on technical matters, orally and in writing.
• Must be able to travel to other locations requiring overnight stay.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds routinely and 50 pounds on occasion.
Work Environment:
Environmental conditions are diverse and could range from an office environment where there is no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust and wind. On occasion individuals may be required to work in areas where high noise hazards will prevail and hearing protection is required. Office work conditions will expend approximately 10% of the candidate’s time and approximately 90% will be expended in more harsh conditions.
