The position

Roshan, an IPS company based in Afghanistan is seeking aHead, Core & Transportto work within its Technology team.

A summary ofHead, Core and Transportresponsibilities and tasks is as follows:

• Leads Core & Transports planning and optimization;


• Manages Core and Transport CapEx ( Capital Expenditures)and OpEx ( Operating Expenses);


• Optimizes Network OpEx related to transmission, Fiber and VSAT;


• Leads team responsible both of Mobile Fixed Core Network Infrastructure Solution Engineering including Sourcing, Certification and Long Term technology planning;


• Maintains network database for Core and Transport (Transmission, IP and Optical);


• Validates/develops standard Mobile & Fixed Core Network and Transport architecture & Technology Roadmap for Roshan;


• Supports Roshan Business Development & Corporate Strategy in business planning/development activities;


• Develops/reviews Engineering guidelines for new deployments, modernization, E2E service control and quality including QoS targets;


• Develops Roshan Core ( Fixed & Mobile) , Transmission and IP design guide lines;


• Keeps track on different technologies & Technology evolution (Technology watch);


• Oversees Core and Transport operation and liaises with Ericsson Managed Services team.

The requirements

• Degree within Electrical Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering etc;


• Have a minimum 8 years of experience in transmission or core planning in Mobile operator.
