With a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, case managers, and veteran outreach workers, this clinic offers high-quality, evidence-based, and personalized outpatient mental health treatment tailored to meet the specific needs of veterans, particularly those from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and their families. The Military Family Clinic (MFC) at Metrocare is part of the Cohen Veterans Network, a national nonprofit (501c3) network of clinics.
The MFC Business Office Coordinator’s role is to oversee the day to day operations of the business office and medical records department. The Business Office Coordinator works effectively with the Clinic Director to optimize services in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining a customer friendly and cost effective business environment.
Responsibilities: Manage site consumer flow, ensuring that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner
Ensures excellent customer service and customer friendly environment
Ensures a clean, orderly, and safe environment in cooperation with the Facilities Maintenance staff
Ensures the highest level of confidentiality and HIPPA compliance within region
Hire, supervise, coach, develop, dismiss and general performance management of administrative staff to include medical records staff
Promotes a professional and fun work environment
Actively participate in clinic meetings
Implements policies & procedures as directed by upper Management
Implements and manages new consumer registration, the collection of payer & authorization information, and data processing to ensure accurate consumer billing and efficient account collection
Acts as IT liaison to facilitate computer & telephone needs for assigned sites
Acts as site Safety Officer
Proactively manages bad debt for assigned sites
Identifies and reports potential billing issues in a timely and efficient manner
Maintains knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures including government, insurance, and third-party payer regulations/contractual requirements
Detects operational shortcomings and offers solutions
Responsible for managing the fiscal operational expenses of the assigned site budget, collaborating with the Clinic Director as required
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business or other health related field
Proven success in leadership, with the ability to assign work, manage, train, and motivate as well as to evaluate performance of staff
Experience in developing, training, recruiting and managing staff
Ability and experience to develop and assess workflows, including proposing, developing and implementing policies and procedures
Ability to speak Spanish is preferred
Experience working within military community is preferred
