Movement Control Specialist
Job Description Provides specialized functional services within Movement Control operations as assigned, including ground transportation missions and/or air transportation in theater. May be assigned to a camp passenger terminal for fixed wing or rotary aircraft and responsible for daily operations. Responsible for preparation and maintenance of movement logs, passenger manifests, cargo movement logs, and daily mission logs. Coordinates activities with military personnel and passes along pertinent information regarding flight rules and regulations to both the internal and external customer. Assists military personnel in scheduling of flights and manifesting of employees. Performs basic maintenance and stocking function at a passenger terminal to ensure customers’ needs are met. Disseminates information regarding flight
schedules, routes, delays, safety requirements, personal baggage limitations, and facilities for customers. Ensures passengers are clear to fly, performs roll call, and escorts passengers to and from aircraft as necessary. May be assigned to ground transportation coordination for line haul, tanker, flatbed, HAZMAT, and triple/double missions. Responsible for preparation and maintenance of movement logs, cargo movement logs, and daily mission logs. Coordinates activities with military escort personnel and passes along pertinent information regarding safety and security rules and regulations. Assists military personnel in scheduling of missions. Performs basic maintenance and stocking functions at truck yards and checkpoints to ensure customers’ needs are met. Disseminates information regarding schedules, routes, delays, safety requirements, and facilities for customers.

Position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions, including lifting and carrying 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. To ensure safety, health, and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand).
Living conditions on the project are most likely austere. The most austere sleeping may be in environmentally conditioned tents on “Army type” cots. Restrooms and showers may be 250 feet or further from sleeping quarters. Laundry service for 15 pounds twice per week is commonly provided. Meals are provided at regular intervals in cafeteria or “dining facility” style environment. Living area will most likely have constant hum of generators or similar equipment nearby.

Basic Job Requirements High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and
three (3) years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications Prior Military and/or Contingency Operations experience preferred.
