(AFG-Kabul) NDT
SUMMARY:
The maintaining of aircraft and their associated engines and sub-systems to ensure airworthiness. Perform maintenance for C130. The duties include, but are not limited to: aircraft servicing, maintaining, repair, inspection; reporting of aircraft status; technical and logistical support for aircraft issues; technical support for aircraft. Perform all NDT related inspections and inspection functions using the most current accepted method in accordance with AAR policies and procedures or as per customer requirements.
The completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, parts ordering and aircraft issues.
Repairs, replaces and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as cowlings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units; using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun and drills.
Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other related documentation to determine feasibility and method of altering or repairing the aircraft and its associated components, determining the airworthiness of the aircraft and its associated components and replacement for malfunctioning or damaged components.
Inspects associated components for airworthiness; repairs or replaces defective parts and associated components.
Troubleshoots, repairs and replaces electrical wiring and associated components.
Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including hydraulic system servicing, engine oil replenishment, aircraft systems lubrication, aircraft fueling, etc…
Interacts with company MOC, the customer and manufacturer in matters that concern the airworthiness of the aircraft, operational readiness of the aircraft and issues related to the troubleshooting of the aircraft’s system.
Must know the maintenance sections of the maintenance manual, the operation and the the provisions and applicable parts of Military Maintenance.
Must effectively interact with Company and customer representatives as well as with representatives of on-site business or military entities.
Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures
Interpret the results of all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) such as acoustic emission, electromagnetic, leak, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, neutron radiographic, radiographic, thermal or infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, and visual testing.
Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials
Examine aircraft using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques
Provides on the Job Training (OJT) for new or inexperienced personnel.
Identify defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques
Prepare reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results.
Will participate in the internal audit process as directed by the Quality Control Manager.
Ensure Inspection continuity on any incomplete work.
Conduct liquid penetrant tests to locate surface cracks by coating objects with fluorescent dyes, cleaning excess penetrant, and applying developer
Perform other duties as assigned by the on-site Aircraft Mechanic Sr.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required
High School diploma or GED.
Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Power Plant License.
Five (5) years’ aviation experience.
NDT experience
WORK CONDITIONS:
Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed in a hangar or aviation field environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
