(AFG-KABUL) Asst Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing activities and personnel to provide operational support for contract performance, business development, and mobilization/transition planning and execution
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- Manage tasks and team to provide operational support, commit a labor force and resources, maintain schedules within cost requirements, and ensure performance standards are met or exceeded for operational readiness
- Advise senior management on program-wide operations and policy oversight for effective decision-making regarding operations performance, business development strategies, issues, and optimal approaches to accomplish company and customer objectives
- Implement strategic plans for operations to support contract requirements and business development based on industry best practices
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and government regulations
- Oversee maintenance, repair, and operation of all assigned systems and supporting infrastructure if assigned
- Implement performance metrics, conduct trend analysis, prepare reports, and brief leadership on operational results
- Track project compliance with operations policies and procedures, identify issues, and recommend solutions
- Provide management guidance and control for efficient utilization of assigned personnel, employee performance, morale, and welfare
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of major US Department of State or military functions and operations
- Must possess a Top Secret Security Clearance
- Detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks independently
- Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Additional knowledge/skills may be required and will be listed separately
Experience & Education
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in military or civilian operations management environment with at least three (3) years providing such services to large facilities.
- Minimum Associate’s degree or equivalent schools/training certifications. in related discipline
- Prefer certification by professional organization in related field

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- CONUS:
- Generally works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions
- OCONUS:
- Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
