(AFG-KANDAHAR) Fuels Manager
Job Summary
The Fuels Manager is responsible for managing bulk, retail, and aircraft refueling operations and personnel within assigned area.
Principal Accountabilities
- Manage personnel and daily fuel tasks to include the receipt, storage, issue, and accountability of petroleum products handled at a site
- Coordinate with US government, military, contractors, and vendors about scheduling, maintenance, supplies, cleaning, and all aspects of the fuel support facility to ensure safe and constant flow of fuel at the site level
- Implement and monitor adherence to environmental and safety standard operating procedures and maintenance plan
- Provide briefings to incoming units regarding fuel procedures that are specific to assigned work location
- Ensure compliance with applicable government and military regulations regarding operations, accountability and environmental standards of fuel handling
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Effective and team-oriented communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Operational knowledge of government procurement system and fuel accounting practices
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable FAA, OSHA, and military regulatory guidance in ground refueling, airfield operations safety, and DOT fuel storage and distribution provisions
Experience & Education
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in various areas of fuel management with at least two (2) years in a fuel supervisory role
- Associate’s Degree in chemical and process engineering, petroleum, or similar discipline; may substitute two (2) additional years of experience in related field for each year of college
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- No allergies to petroleum products
- Ability to perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, and rain) and work long hours
- Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
