Independence Program Manager - Wounded Warrior Project - Seattle, WA
The IP Manager works collaboratively with the Independence Services Regional Director to establish relationships and secure internal and external resources for warriors through a variety of programmatic opportunities. Additionally, the IP Manager will be responsible for regional planning and oversight related to hiring, training, budgeting, and maintaining key performance indicators for the IP team.
Essential DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Independence Program (IP) Specialist and Coordinator efforts
Mentor IP Specialists and Coordinators through career development
Mobilize resources, as needed, to achieve expected warrior goals within the desired time-frame
Oversee the development, coordination, planning and execution of programmatic events including IP Expos, Caregiver Wellness Workshops, and Financial Workshops
Enhance a collaborative relationships to maximize the warrior’s ability to make informed decisions
Facilitate effective partnerships between IP teammates, other WWP program teammates, and contracted case management team
Review and approve alumni enrollment in IP
Manage budget and administrative duties related to programmatic opportunities for Alumni and their families
Ensure completion and proper storage of necessary documentation for IP
Raise awareness and educate the need to support and sustain the warrior and family system in the community
Develop community support and speak on behalf of WWP. Assist in all grassroots efforts and support specific programs as needed
Manage and train IP Specialists and Coordinators
Significant travel expected: 25-50%

Ability to generate big-picture content and program structure
High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs, especially MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required
Master’s degree, preferred
Three (3) years of staff management experience required
Working knowledge of military and veterans issues, particularly with Iraq and Afghanistan military and veterans, required
Prior experience with high level injuries such as brain injury, spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions preferred
Two (2) years of experience of working with military/veterans population or military service-related MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) and assisting military or veteran populations preferred
