(AFG-Oconus Kabul) Contracts Specialist

Contracts Specialist


  • Will be in charge of the procurement of goods, including but not limited to solicitation of quotations, transportation and delivery of goods

  • Will ensure proof of delivery, verification of items received against items ordered, proper disposal of damaged goods, arrangement for any applicable permits or licenses, and related services.

  • Procurement of services, such as maintenance contracts, installation and repair of equipment, determination of support requirements, construction, solicitation of bids, advice on contract technical specifications , oversight of subcontractors, verification that services provided are in accordance with specifications, guarantees, warranties or ongoing support, arrangements for any applicable permits or licenses, issuance of progress reports for contract execution in excess of 30 days, final reports on completion of projects, including recommendations for future maintenance, technical plans, and information which might be required for future repairs or upgrades, and related services.

  • Procurement of commodities, including but not limited to solicitation of quotations, transportation and delivery of commodities to the Interdiction Base Compound in Afghanistan.


  • Proof of delivery, arrangements for any applicable permits or licenses, oversight and monitoring to include benchmarks for initiation of follow-on or replenishment contracts, and related services.

    Required Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years’ experience in logistics or related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years college.



  • Twelve (12) years’ experience in supply chain management and/or government property administration. Prefer at least four (4) years management position in contingency logistics environment.

  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related federal and state legislation and regulations.

  • Knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with Government supply chain management standards is required

  • Ability to obtain a Moderate Risk Public Trust Certificate

  • Ability to be medically cleared to perform on contract.
