Afghanistan: A NUTRITION FIELD MANAGER - AFGHANISTAN

We are looking for:

A NUTRITION FIELD MANAGER

Country: AFGHANISTAN – Mazar

Length of Contract: 12 Months starting as soon as possible**

The position: Under the supervision of the Field coordinator, you will be responsible to ensure implementation and monitoring of Nutrition & Health, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (Wash) and Food Security & Livelihoods (FSL) programs in Balkh province. More precisely, you will in charge to:**

Ensure management/coordination of program activities.

• Provide direction and supervision to ensure the management and implementation of program activities, in close coordination


• Ensure availability of necessary technical support (Nutrition & Health, Wash and Food Security)


• Follow up the activities, and evaluate the quality of the programs by conducting regular field visits


• Ensure the timely production/compilation of the monthly activity reports (APR) and technical reports


• Ensure coordination, information exchange to implementation of the integrated parts of the projects.


• Ensure timely budget follow up, procurements and HR needs with respect to the project activities in link with the Field Coordinator.

Accompany the partners in the development and management of their activities

• Place at the disposal of the partner promptly and with regard to quality as well as means to give effect to operations planned for its programme


• Ensure facilitation with the partner with regards to nutrition stock follow up, supply orders, etc


• Facilitate the partner relation with provincial public health department


• Ensure follow up of implementation of the activities as per the operational agreement signed with the partners

Manage and ensure capacity building of the programme team and partners in development and management of activities

• Build programme team capacities in Project Cycle Management, especially with respect to implementation methodology and activity follow-up tools


• Build programme team capacities in technicality of nutrition program, in relationship with nutrition Head of Department


• Provide adapted trainings to ACF and partner teams based on project implementation plan.


• Ensure attendance of relevant staff in technical workshops and technical working group meetings

Ensure monitoring & evaluation and capitalization activities

• Coordinate with the MEAL team to develop a monitoring & evaluation plan on each project implemented


• Prepare donor reporting, cluster coordination (Nutrition, WaSH and FSL) and governmental agencies reporting.


• Provide timely and relevant feedback and communication on monitoring and evaluation findings to ACF team


• Participate in the development and quality management of project capitalization activities

Participate in representation and coordination activities

• Support the partnership management in Balkh


• Representation with partners and other external stakeholders at Provincial level.


• Ensure regular coordination with UN agencies with regard to the projects.

The Applicant: You hold a Master degree in Nutrition or Health with 5 years minimum of professional experience and 2 years prior experience in a similar or comparable position.

You are recognized for your technical expertise in nutrition & health programming with a strong experience in coordination with other technical departments. You have also a good knowledge and experience in project cycle management. You have a strong ability to provide technical support in project proposal development and in conducting needs assessments. Excellent diplomacy, negotiation and representation skills are required thus team management experience.

Gross monthly salary ranging from €1805 to €2305 depending on relevant experience

SPECIFIC ALLOWANCE IS GRANTED FOR THIS POSITION

Food and hygiene expenses, per diem, transportation costs, collective or individual accommodation, medical insurance

25 days of annual paid leaves and 20 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year
