(AFG-KANDAHAR) Fuels Supervisor


Job Summary


The Fuels Supervisor provides supervision of personnel and daily tasks related to the receipt, storage, issue and accountability of petroleum products handled at a site.


Principal Accountabilities


(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)


  • Oversee, direct, inspect or guide the fuels operation team.

  • Manage the receipt, storage and issuance of fuel.

  • Ensure team operates in accordance to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plans and programs, standard operating procedures, and all regulations.

  • Train and mentor the staff as needed.

  • Monitor and validate the proper fuel accountability procedures are followed.

  • Maintain accountability of all assigned equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills


  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software.

  • Ability to supervise fuel testing and maintenance/repair of fuel handling equipment and facilities.

  • Understanding of applicable regulatory guidance in ground refueling, airfield operations safety and government fuel storage and distribution provisions.

  • Advanced proficiency in hands-on refueling processes.

Experience & Education


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in chemical and process engineering or related petroleum field preferred.

  • Advanced degree in security related fields or business preferred.

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in relevant field.

  • Previous experience as a fuel foreman or supervisor preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment


  • Able to work with petroleum products.

  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.

  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.

  • Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.

Travel


  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
