Lead Technician, Systems - General Dynamics - Information Technology - Schofield, HI
1. Performs duties as lead communications specialist for constructive simulations supporting the Mission Training Complex (MTC) at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, USARPAC. Supports the constructive simulations under the Army Low Overhead Training Toolkit (ALOTT) training model in the development, execution, and follow-on phases of Command Post Operations exercise development.
2. Employee works as part of the MTC staff. The MTC is a training enabler in this process that provides simulation and/or Army Mission Command System (AMCS) stimulation to drive the training. Specifically, the employee assists the Mission Command Training Team (MCTT) lead in the development and implementation of all end-to-end communications requirements for battalion level Mission Command Post Constructive Training utilizing a Low Overhead Driver (LOHD) simulations system. Additionally, the employee will assist in the constructive exercise design and execution and provide instruction in the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP).
3. Required to maintain familiarity with Army doctrine, organization, WFA (Warfighting Functional Area), and unit tactics to accomplish assigned duties as a Simulations analyst.
4. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the communications network to such an extent as to be able to identify communications connectivity issues within the system.
5. Provide assistance to the MCTT lead in the development and implementation of communications networks that best supports the commander’s intent and training objectives.
6. Maintains records of training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness.
7. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
8. Participates in special projects as required.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Develops communications network systems specifications that address business requirements and that fit with company/customer system architecture standards.
1. Participates in the analysis and evaluation of existing or proposed systems and assists in the design of communications networks for LOHD systems.
2. Gathers information from users for analysis of problem areas and prepares elementary feasibility studies.
3. Assists higher-level end-to end personnel in analyzing alternative systems, cost aspects and feasibility factors.
5. Prepares and updates documentation for new or existing systems.
7. Troubleshoots and provides technical support and solutions to users.
8. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Contractual requirements;
Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
5-8 years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations.
1. A working knowledge of the Army Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming training enablers and capabilities is recommended
2. Former Army/Marine Corps ground combat company grade officer or senior non-commissioned officer
3. Working knowledge of military operations and doctrine.
4. Combat Training Center and/or combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan are preferred but not required.
5. Security Clearance Required – Secret.
