Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm POSITION TITLE/FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT NUMBER: SUPERVISORY SOCIAL WORKER, FUNCTIONAL STATMENT #0000000 ***RELOCATION INCENTIVE/RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE IS NOT AUTHORIZED *** Supervisory social worker provides clinical and administrative supervision, program development and support to the social work programs in the inpatient Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center (PRC), the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center (CRC); the outpatient Polytrauma Network Site (PNS), and the Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Program (PTRP). The PRC, CRC and PTRP programs are located at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) Palo Alto campus. The PNS clinics are located at the VAPAHCS Palo Alto and Livermore campuses. The Polytrauma programs focus on active duty service members who are being treated under the sharing agreement with the Department of Defense. The veterans have suffered brain injury as well as multiple traumatic injuries in combat in Iraq, Afghanistan and in stateside accidents. In cooperation with the active duty commands, the programs provide cognitive and physical rehabilitation as well as community reintegration. The Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program focuses on serving any Veteran in need of acute rehabilitation. The Supervisory Social Worker supervises a group of nine (9) GS-12s, including advanced practice social workers and GS-11s who are able to practice at the independent level. The incumbent is responsible for the professional and administrative management of social work services within the PRC, CRC, PNS and PTRP. The incumbent is licensed at the advanced practice level and is able to provide supervision for subordinate staff to qualify for licensure. Incumbent has responsibility for coordinating staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services provided, and admission criteria of the program. The incumbent manages and controls the use of data related to these programs regarding day to day functioning and program evaluation. In conjunction with the Service Chief, plans, organizes and directs administrative, operational, patient and personnel activities for the service.
