Job Description Under limited supervision, supervises Food Services operations within a facility, site, or project. Maintains stores and equipment, ensuring maximum utilization of available resources to maximize value. Plans work schedules and delegates Food Service tasks among staff. Prepares menus for the Food Services Manager to review and to forward on the customer for approval. Ensures facility and employee compliance with rules, regulations, and the contract. Plans and carries out dining events on special occasions and during VIP visits.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Supervises a team of subordinate employees, subcontractor and/or labor broker personnel.
Basic Job Requirements Associates degree in related field or equivalent project experience required. The amount of specific job training required to learn the techniques, information, and facility needed for average performance in this position is 5 years of which 1 year should be in a supervisory role.
Other Job Requirements Requires strong discretion and independence. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of PC-based business applications. Physically, the worker must be capable of exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions, including lifting and carrying 25 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. To ensure safety, health and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand) or have a translator available.
LIVING ENVIRONMENT: Living conditions are most likely austere. The most austere sleeping may be in environmentally conditioned tents on “army type” cots. Restrooms and showers may be 250 feet or further from sleeping quarters. Laundry service for 15 pounds twice per week is commonly provided. Meals are provided at regular intervals in cafeteria or “mess hall” style environment. Living area will most likely have constant hum of generators or similar equipment nearby.
Preferred Qualifications Previous Military Experience, LOGCAP / Contingency Operations experience in government contracting is preferred. Small group leadership experience preferred.
