Position: Bookkeeper
Gryphon Partners (“GP”) — an emerging markets advisory firm – is seeking a Bookkeeper to manage its in-house accounting activities. The Employee shall oversee accounting for primarily GP, along with several additional small organizations such as ARCH International a non-profit entity, Tardigrade Investments LLC, and Metis Analytics. Additionally this employee shall provide personal finance support as described below. This position reports directly to the President of GP and the President of ARCH & Metis.
Start date is no later than June 13th 2016, preference given to someone who can start sooner. Salary commensurate with prior experience. Looking for an applicant who can stay two-year or longer.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day accounting functions for GP its affiliated companies, including AR, AP, Payroll, GL accounting, personal bill pay;
- Generate and track invoices and follow up with international clients to ensure timely payment;
- Track and record donations for ARCH – providing IRS compliant letters as needed;
- Review credit card charges and other expenses from Presidents’ frequent trips to ensure proper billable expenses are sent onto clients, or expensed properly
- Oversee all insurance (medical, dental, and business/personal) making sure no lapses in coverage occur and information is up to date;
- Manage income property – tracking timely payment by tenants and acting as liaison;
- Perform monthly reconciliations on all bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash;
- Track and pay firm expenses, processing employee reimbursements, and looking for ways to reduce expenses as appropriate;
- Monitor bank activity, initiating international and domestic wires thought Bank of America CashPro, as well as making internal transfers, and depositing checks through remote deposit;
- Perform all QuickBooks data entry, and preparation of financial reports as requested (AR reporting especially);
- Process ADP Payroll for GP employees, and handle payments to contractors as needed;
- Manage fringe benefits including – Smarttrip and 401k for employees ensuring proper payroll withholding and benefits assignment;
- Prepare 1099 forms and other tax-related documentation on an annual basis;
- Coordinating with CPA firm to prepare necessary tax filings; and other finance or accounting-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate fluently (orally and in writing) in English;
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and remain calm while dealing with complex and changing situations;
- Self-motivated and a strong independent worker
- Quickbooks familiarity a plus
- Willingness to help out as needed in varied ad-hoc projects preferred
- Ability to be responsive over email/phone, as needed, at night and on the weekends;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and to carefully follow directions and pay attention to details;
- Either a BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, business or 1-2 years of relevant prior accounting or finance work experience.
- U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or other long-term U.S. work permit
