(AFG-Kabul) ANASOC MOBILE TRAINING TEAM MENTOR TRAINER


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


The primary goal of this program is to provide subject matter expertise and training support to assist Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan (CSTC-A) and NATO Special Operations Component Command-Afghanistan (NSOCC-A) through Special Operations Task Force- Afghanistan (SOTF-A) and Afghan National Army Special Operations Command-Special Operations Advisory Group (ANASOC-SOAG), in the execution of their mission. The mission is to train ANASOC units to perform their duties and responsibilities independent of Coalition assistance. This program is currently programmed as an Enduring Mission.


The Mobile Training Team (MTT) Mentor shall observe, mentor, and assist the Afghan Afghanistan National Army Special Operations Command School of Excellence (ANASOC SOE) MTTin training the ANASOC Special Operations Kandaks (SOKs) during their Amber Cycles.


The mentor duties include (but are not limited to):


o Advisement for four mobile training teams, each with 3 officers, a SGM and 10 seniorNCOs (mirrored on an AOB construct)


o Advise, assist and train (as required) primary staff in their functional areas (S1-S6).


o Advise, assist and train (as required) MTT Cadre assigned within each MOS and specific core curriculum assigned to them, assess the capabilities through developing an accurate Operational Readiness Assessmentsupporting the METL and commanders intent, provide input to the commanders future force generation and assist in providing input to sustain the force (Commando and Special Forces) assigned within ANASOC, provide recommendations for the Commando and Special Forces Doctrine (Proponency) IAW ANASOC Decrees.


o Assist in developing a resource library supporting all Doctrine, Master Training Plans and Lessons Learned in support of Commando and Special Forces Missions as directed by ANASOC establish/maintain an AAR system within the SOE, assist in developing TTPs in support of Lessons Learned, AARs and the implementation of new equipment, assigned by Tashkil, to Commando and Special Forces Units, and advise, assist and train the newly formed SOE MTT.


o MTTs are specifically selected and trained to deliver a variety of collective tasks to the deployed force.


o Prior to deployment, training is designed by the requesting commander using his METL and training assessment.


o The MTT Mentor will ensure that the MTT tailors its force to cover the requested training (e.g., augmenting specialty instructors for skills not present in the MTT organization) and prepares and rehearses the training to be given.


o MTTs can also be employed in delivering New Equipment Training and are capable of embedded missions to gather lessons learned andbest practices


o The MTT Mentor will ensure MTTs work closely with ANASOC Division G3 Doctrine and Proponency professionals to evaluate and distribute these lessons learned and best practices.


o The Mentor will also ensure that MTTs work with the G3 Doctrine and Proponency in the development of ANASOC doctrine, serving as Subject Matter Experts on evolving publications.


o MTT subjects include (but are not limited to): mortars, medical, engineer and CIED, combatives, sniper operations, New Equipment Training (NET), GPS, ATAC, AIDO, and heavy weapons.


MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:


o Must have background in 11A (Ranger Regiment) and/or 18 Series


o Minimum of three years’ real world experience mentoring, training, and advising within Afghanistan and/or Muslim environment


o Minimum of 10 years of Special Operations Experience


o Applicants must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements at an approved CRC. Applicants must be in possession of a current/active US tourist Passport (with further eligibility to receive – if not already in possession of – a current Afghanistan visa). If candidate is already deployed, he/she must supply appropriate documentation satisfying these requirements along with confirmation that he/she is in physical possession of government-issued PPE to demonstrate compliance with CENTCOM deployment requirements.


o Willing to work and live in Afghanistan and understand they can be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government


o Willingness to work in hostile areas without a weapon


o Willingness to deploy and live on forward operating bases without regular U.S. Post/Base Exchange and Commissary facilities


o Previous experience training foreign military soldiers.


o Deployed operational experience in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT)


o MS Office Skills


o Personal Computer (PC) Skills


o Interpersonal and People Skills


o Oral and Written Communication Skills


o Organizational Skills


o Minimum of 2 years management experience.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • MSG or above with Ranger Regiment and Spcial Forces experience




  • Afghan operational experience




  • Mobile Training Team experience in Afghanistan.
