Software Integration Specialist - Tapestry Solutions - Charleston, SC

LIMS supports 85 defense, commercial and government customers from over 50 US locations and nine countries including, multiple forward operating bases in Afghanistan.


The Software Integration Specialist works with customers to configure complex client server computers with a variety of software applications. The software integrator works to understand customer needs and configures computer systems to meet customer needs while working within system constraints and security requirements to maintain and update a military C4ISR networked client server computer system. The software integrator will troubleshoot and debug the computer system to maintain interoperability with the various computer software applications and the operating system in a virtual machine client server environment.


Multiple positions are available in various levels depending on experience.


Primary Job Functions:


  • Gathers requirements pertaining to the constraints, standards, and operational requirements from all the stakeholders of a program. Works with team members in identifying and understanding system capabilities (e.g., operational, functional).

  • Quantifies and reviews performance requirements to determine internal consistency and feasibility and to ensure customer needs are met. Participates in independent reviews of program requirements to ensure all requirements are met.

  • Troubleshoots and solves multi-system problems. Applies knowledge and experience to quickly identify root causes and resolve key issues.

  • Determines usable software configurations based on customer requirements within system constraints.

  • Loads computer systems with application updates and patches while maintaining system operability.

  • Writes software scripts to manage and test configuration loads.

  • Establishes and maintains software builds and build markers.

  • Conducts testing and debugging to identify problems within a complex software load.

  • Establishes evaluation and test criteria and processes based on stakeholder requirements.

  • Reviews and provides feedback for process improvement to process owners.

  • Plans elements of C4ISR systems projects that includes both hardware and software configuration and network integration.

  • Provides expertise with configuration tools and operating system frameworks.

  • Provides critical support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Participates in meetings, teleconferences and workgroups; provides professional technical input and assessments; provides data for reports as required.

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Abilities :


  • Three or more years experience working with Windows, Solaris, or Linux operating system in support of fielded mobile or expeditionary systems.

  • Three or more years experience maintaining information assurance (IA) compliance of Windows and/or Solaris Operating Systems.

  • Certifications in Windows Operating systems(MCSE, MCP, MCSA or others), Solaris, Linux are greatly desirable but not required.

  • Knowledge of software licensing requirements and the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) including SQL STIG preferred.

  • At more senior levels, demonstrated leadership of highly technical teams strongly preferred.

Special Job-related Circumstances :


Security Clearance : The candidate must currently have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance. Eligibility for Top Secret clearance preferred.
