Computer Systems Analyst - Lockheed Martin - Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD





This position is contingent upon contract award expected in early 2016. This position is identified as Strategic Review – Aligned to IS&GS. Position is located in Afghanistan: Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) Systems Specialist, Journeyman is responsible for providing Airborne Sensor Operators (ASOs) support in the form of Tactical Operations Center (TOC) managers. This position is responsible for ground coordination activities to enable handling issues that reduce ASO workload (i.e., flight tracking, target changes, crypto dropss and assembling prebrief and debrief data packets). “Sample Description of Work Performed: Configures, installs, integrates, tests, upgrades hardware and software, troubleshoots and repairs United States proprietary low-density tactical Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence information systems using digital theory, analytical problem solving, and troubleshooting skills. Applies institutional network management and system analysis knowledge, acquired through years of direct military support, to integrate military and commercial hardware and software. Provides client-server multi-user system support for military operations. Resolves systemic problems by performing application and operating system program debugging and testing, and schedules upgrade implementation of software with programmers, systems analysts and functional users to enhance network and system capability and operations. Designs and configures local area and wide area nodal hardware and integrates systems hardware and software to meet unit initiatives and mission requirements. Installs and configures software operating systems, and U.S. Proprietary network operations application software. Responds to customer trouble calls to diagnose, restore, and reconfigure system interoperability. Installs software programs, responds to trouble calls, and performs fault isolation and system recovery from malfunctions due to hardware, software, and communications failures. Installs, configures, tests, and provides technical training for system hardware, software, and proprietary application upgrades. Performs system diagnostics to determine and resolve hardware, software, and network problems. Repairs or replaces lowest replaceable units to restore system operations. Determines system hardware components and configuration as well as software required to meet operational requirements. Recommends equipment acquisition or replacement. Makes periodic technical evaluation visits of C4I systems located throughout USAREUR, noting discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions. Rates USAREUR activities operational effectiveness, security, and training programs, and briefs technical oversight issues to senior officers and government officials. Directs security programs and activities and ensures compliance with directives governing physical, operational, computer, and communications security. Reports security incidents, formulates and applies corrective security procedures. Provides guidance for communications, computers, and automation emission security issues. Educates users on communications, computer, and information security. Applies security techniques to preclude unauthorized access to classified and sensitive information and misuse of automated resources.

Basic Qualifications

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field), and three years of related experience, Minimum Years of Experience: Extensive knowledge or experience in one or more of the following technical areas: US intelligence, surveillance, or reconnaissance systems, processes, functions and organizations at tactical, operational or strategic levels; or advanced command and control or telecommunications functions, organizations, systems and techniques including computer and communications systems at tactical, operational and strategic level. Requires a thorough knowledge of CISCO IOS and the deployment of network routers including the development of Access Control List, RIP, DHCP and SMTP protocols to provide a secure communications interface between the remote sites and the main tactical or fixed site. Substitutions: Associate Degree with seven years of related experience and/or training; or 12 years of related experience and/or training. ” NACI required prior to deployment and within 30 days of start date. Valid passport for at least 3 years. Ability to read, write and speak English Familiarly with basic computer skills Must be able to meet CENTCOM CRC medical minimum standards Must be able to meet deployment training minimum standards Must be able to work with customers and subcontractors in a professional manner
