(AFG-KANDAHAR) Forklift Operator
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safe and effective operation of a Skytrak 10042 Forklift, a JLG 2505 Forklift, a CAT EP20CN Forklift or equivalent model.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)
- Responsible for vertical movement for logistic operations to/from trucks and trailers and proper store
- Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures
- Close interaction with the military for the movement of materials, supplies, equipment and setting
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
- Clean equipment as scheduled and/or required
- Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Driver’s license required
- Knowledge of equipment safety, equipment maintenance and storage
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Level four (4) English.
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as a forklift operator
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, stoop and have ability to work around equipment, materials, supplies and other items required for movement
- Ability to work extended hours seven days a week for long periods of time
- Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
