Job Summary
AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the MOSC-A contract for an Lead Electrician Inspector . Oversees the direction and training of workers with regard to the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical wiring, infrastructure, related equipment and all associated fixtures and fittings. Installs and tests electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and associated fixtures. Utilizes the appropriate hand/power tools and testing equipment IAW relevant National Electric Code (NEC) requirements. Troubleshoots systems, equipment, fixtures and associated components utilizing the appropriate test equipment to locate and correct any malfunction. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Compiles data and relevant documentation resulting from inspections of electrical systems and their component parts to identify hazards and defects. Determines the appropriate course of action to facilitate necessary repair, all IAW relevant National Electric Code (NEC) requirements. Ground tests electrical systems using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of all electrical systems IAW relevant National Electric Code (NEC) requirements. Plans, directs, prepares and oversees of drawings, sketches and layouts for the installation of electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures and related infrastructure, based on job specifications and IAW all relevant National Electric Code (NEC) requirements. Ensures all work adheres to, and is in compliance with, the National Electric Code (NEC) and Building and Safety Codes. Organizes, plans, schedules, monitors, tracks, reports on all allocations of work assigned to Electricians, Sen. Electricians and all related Electrical Shop assigned personnel. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Electrician Licenses from country of origin required for EXPAT
NACI Required.
Military Training or similar vocational education trade training required for OCN
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience.
Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.
6 years’ experience as an electrician required.
Must possess and demonstrate, a detailed and comprehensive understanding and extensive working field knowledge of all aspects of the National Electric Code (NEC).
Must have comprehensive knowledge and work experience with all aspects of the National Electric Code (NEC) and associated related documentation.
Must have knowledge of building construction methodology.
Must have knowledge of maintenance and repair for temporary and permanent structures.
Must have experience in MS Office software applications such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint is a plus.
Must have excellent Customer service skills.
Must have excellent English writing skills.
Must have excellent English oral skills.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks at any given time.
Must be able to work effectively with a multinational workforce.
