Automotive Painter - MILSPRAY Military Technologies - Lakewood, NJ






Location:
Special assignment in Afghanistan in July 2016; candidate would start immediately in Lakewood, NJ, for training


Position Summary:
Primary responsibilities are undercoating, priming and painting automotives and small parts, hand, block and mechanical sand equipment, masking and cleaning surfaces for proper adhesion and assist other painters as needed. Interprets and understands technical manuals or other documentation required to meet specifications and standards, to include preventative maintenance and repair actions on military, manual or commercial systems and automotives.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintains automotive appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting to include masking of automotives

  • Maintains automotive in functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage

  • Maintains automotive records by recording service and repairs

  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications

  • Selects and uses appropriate hand and power tools and paint equipment and complies with acceptable quality standards using appropriate production practices and methods

  • Work in and have general knowledge of shop procedures as they relate to the blasting and painting of various military equipment and systems

  • Ability to document supply and paint actions on manually or on military or commercial computer systems

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years of automotive painting experience

  • Must have a US passport

  • Must possess the physical ability to perform the job while standing for long periods of time; lift no less than 50 pounds; and work with protective equipment in a closed environment

  • Must perform assigned tasks with a minimal supervision

  • Must be able to work in a team environment with management and other personnel to complete the task

  • Must have knowledge of paint application tools, special tools and equipment and common tools required to disassemble equipment and prepare paint products for application

  • Experience in Military Corrosion Control programs preferred

  • Experience in maintenance and repair on automotives is a plus

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally
