As Grants Program Officer you will manage the grants acquisition process of analyzing opportunities as part of Go-No Go decision process, connecting with in-country donor representatives, leading proposal development teams in the National Office, ensuring calls’ guidelines are followed, maintaining close coordination with World Vision Support Office (SO) contacts, and maintaining regular contact with World Vision MEER Regional Office Resource Development Unit.
Search for and identify donor/funding sources beyond and in addition to the “typical” mix of donors that WVAfg currently engages. You will also provide expertise in facilitating project design, proposal development in a manner that ensures quality advantage in a highly competitive market, while also maintaining alignment with WVAfg’s National Strategy and WVI’s Child Well-Being Outcomes.
Requirements include:
- · Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- · Strong understanding of the grants cycle.
- · Familiarity with major donor funding requirements such as – USAID, EU, ECHO, DFID, DFATD, AusAid, etc.
- · Minimum five (5) years of engagement in development and/or relief work at the program level preferred.
- · Advanced written and oral English skills. (Ability to express ideas clearly and effectively, both in spoken and written English).
- · Position is based in Herat, Afghanistan, with possible travel up to 30% of the time (local and international).
