(AFG-Kabul) ANASOC G4 MAINT CL IX MENTOR TRAINER


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


The primary goal of this program is to provide subject matter expertise and training support to assist Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan (CSTC-A) and NATO Special Operations Component Command-Afghanistan (NSOCC-A) through Special Operations Task Force- Afghanistan (SOTF-A) and Afghan National Army Special Operations Command-Special Operations Advisory Group (ANASOC-SOAG), in the execution of their mission. The mission is to train ANASOC units to perform their duties and responsibilities independent of Coalition assistance. This program is currently programmed as an Enduring Mission.



  • Trainer shall train, observe, and assist the Afghan Commando Division maintenance in becoming proficient in the following duties and responsibilities utilizing Decree 4.9 and all applicable SOP.




  • Individual shall supervise a diverse range of subordinate team memberduties and responsibilities (8/10).




  • Duties include but not limited to overseeing the training establishment of the ANASOC Division maintenance principal maintenance officer for the ANASOC Commander.




  • The MO advises the ANASOC commander and coordinates external maintenance and Class IX support.




  • He provides advice and expertise to the Brigade commanders. He recommends maintenance procedures and policies to facilitate support of ANSOC.




  • He coordinates for maintenance and repair parts support from DS maintenance units and oversees the maintenance section. The MO monitors maintenance activities of the ANASOC.


    o He is the primary advisor to the ANASOC commander on all maintenance related activities. Logistics management experience necessary.



Maintenance Support of Task Forces


Maintenance Operations



  • Organizes the maintenance section to support task force operations




  • Contributes to the development of the logistics annex of the operations plan or the SOP to include maintenance support requirements for the garrison.




  • Organizes the unit maintenance collection point (UMCP) with maintenance personnel, recovery vehicles, tool trucks and PLL assets




  • Support of Offensive, Defense, and Offensive Operations




  • Monitors the tactical situation to support the attack




  • Coordinates maintenance requirements addressing the current situation, priority of effort and plans for the next operation



Recovery Operations

* Responsible for recovery of heavy equipment beyond the owning units capability


  • Manages the ANASOC recovery operations using recovery equipment of the maintenance section

Sustainment Operations

* Responsible for developing the ANASOC combat readiness sustainment program



  • Assist with developing a sound safety program




  • Assist commander concerning sustainment maintenance issues to optimize capabilities




  • Assist in planning and updating focused maintenance support plans to capitalize on fixed base and mobile maintenance capabilities.




  • Develop a ANASOC maintenance management process that includes:



Forecasting

* Class IX parts for future maintenance issues


Scheduling

* Preventive maintenance and services


Quality assurance

* Equipment is repaired IAW standards



  • Technical assistance




  • Advise mechanics and command on maintenance repair issues




  • Provisioning of repair parts




  • Repair parts and facilities are not being misused



Work loading

o Proper workload is evenly distributed to mechanics


o Development of reparable to meet ANASOC needs


MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum of five years’experience of mentoring/training and advising within Afghanistan and/or Muslim environment.




  • Minimum of 10 years of military logistics experience (US Army LOGISTICS)- United States Army Division, Brigade and/or Program level Logistics and/or Maintenance/transportation experience a must and/or Extensive equivalent




  • Applicants must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements at an approved CRC. Applicants must be in possession of a current/active US tourist Passport (with further eligibility to receive – if not already in possession of – a current Afghanistan visa). If candidate is already deployed, he/she must supply appropriate documentation satisfying these requirements along with confirmation that he/she is in physical possession of government-issued PPE to demonstrate compliance with CENTCOM deployment requirements.




  • Willing to work and live in Afghanistan and understand they can be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government




  • Applicants must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements at an approved CRC. Applicants must be in possession of a current/active US tourist Passport (with further eligibility to receive – if not already in possession of – a current Afghanistan visa). If candidate is already deployed, he/she must supply appropriate documentation satisfying these requirements along with confirmation that he/she is in physical possession of government-issued PPE to demonstrate compliance with CENTCOM deployment requirements.




  • Willing to work and live in Afghanistan and understand they can be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government




  • Willingness to work in hostile areas without a weapon




  • Willingness to deploy and live on forward operating bases without regular U.S. Post/Base Exchange and Commissary facilities




  • Previous experience training foreign military soldiers.




  • Deployed operational experience in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT)




  • MS Office Skills




  • Personal Computer (PC) Skills




  • Interpersonal and People Skills




  • Oral and Written Communication Skills




  • Organizational Skills



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


MSG or above with deplooyed experience to Afghanistan and experience training Afghans on Logistics Maintenance operations.
