Job Description The candidate must have an AA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Have a working knowledge of UFC, NFPA, NEC and IBC codes in order to identify deficiencies and provide direction, along with preparing drawings and supervision to correct them as they apply to Fire Alarm Systems. Must have experience in inspecting, testing / troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and commissioning fire alarm systems. Working knowledge of alarm panels, devices, sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices and critical components. Have experience in designing fire detection systems along with the preparation of construction documents, material take-off’s and report writing to document project performance. Ability to communication with Management/Supervisors and/or other departments on inspection or project delays, requirements and status of progress.

Position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions, including lifting and carrying 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. To ensure safety, health, and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand).
Living conditions on the project are most likely austere. The most austere sleeping may be in environmentally conditioned tents on “Army type” cots. Restrooms and showers may be 250 feet or further from sleeping quarters. Laundry service for 15 pounds twice per week is commonly provided. Meals are provided at regular intervals in cafeteria or “dining facility” style environment. Living area will most likely have constant hum of generators or similar equipment nearby.

Basic Job Requirements AA degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and technical project experience, is required.
NICET Level III OR a State certification or license in Fire Protection
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Other Job Requirements Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing required preventive maintenance inspections, services and repairs. Interface with other trades personnel and on site fire personnel to ensure functionality of systems. Supports construction, repair activities and assists tradesmen with regard to related issues identified in the field or on drawings. Provides direction on as-built drawing efforts and recommends solutions to facilitate the corrections. Adheres to project safety requirements and encourages safe work activities.

• Monaco – M2 conventional and addressable, BTX, D-21
• Notifier – 640, 3030
• EST-3
• Honeywell – Firelite 9600, 9200, Silent Knight 5208
• Vesda – VLF500
• OSID – optional detectors
• System sensor beam detectors
Be proficient in the use of personal computers utilizing programs as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and database (software) programs.
Prior Military and/or Contingency Operations experience preferred
